More details

Your two-year training contract will be formed of four six-month seats, giving you exposure to an exciting variety of work and clients, helping you develop a wide range of professional skills.

In addition to building the skills to become a successful solicitor, experiencing a wide variety of work and interaction with a range of clients, you’ll also have ample opportunity to network with your peers as a member of the Birmingham Trainee Solicitors’ Society and give something back by getting involved in activities to raise money for the trainees’ annual charity.

The route to apply for a training contract at Anthony Collins Solicitors is through our vacation scheme. The one-week vacation scheme gives you an opportunity to understand the work that we do and meet the people who do it.

Anthony Collins Solicitors provides funding towards LPC fees to those who are joining us as trainees and are currently or about to commence their LPC studies and we are going to be replicating such arrangements with SQE, in line with our current offer.

Seats

In addition to a mixture of contentious and non-contentious experiences, we’ll encourage you to complete both private client and commercial seats. This will give you a broad knowledge of different practice areas, helping you identify the area of law in which you’d like to qualify. Your preferences for which seats you take will be considered along with your development needs, the business needs and Solicitors Regulatory Authority requirements.

Extra-curricular

All of our trainee solicitors are members of the Birmingham Trainee Solicitors Society and get involved in a variety of exclusive legal events as well as sports leagues and the annual dinner. It’s not just great for career development, but socially too. Each year our trainees support a different charity and fundraise in a variety of ways.
